Jamu Recipes for Tumors


PATHO-PHYSIOLOGY: Tumor or neoplasm is a new growth of tissue in a limited area, with abnormal structure or location. Tumors are classified in two major groups: malignant tumors and benign tumors. A malignant tumor invades neighboring tissues, recurs after removal, and metastasizes (travels) to distant organs via the lymphatic or blood system, while a benign tumor has none of those properties.

The herbal remedies we are about to discuss is addressed to the benign form of tumors particularly in the brain, uterus and breast.

Recipe # 1 - for brain tumors 

INGREDIENTS:
Vigna sinensis - beans (kacang tolo merah) – 3 tablespoons
Chicken claws (cakar ayam kampung) – 6 pieces
Garlic (Allium sativum, bawang putih) – 3 pieces
Parsley leaves (Apium graveolens-folia, daun seledri) – 3 stalks
Salt (garam) – adequate amount

PREPARATION AND DOSAGE:
Decoction: Clean wash the chicken claws and cut each into 3 parts. Boil the claw cuts together with the other ingredients in 8 glasses of pure water. Let it boil until left to 4 glasses. Strain after cooling. Dosage: ½ glass 3 times a day.

Recipe # 2 - for tumors in the uterus 

INGREDIENTS:
Tea epiphytes (Scurrula atropurpurea-folia, daun benalu teh) – 1 handful
Green chiretta leaves (Andrographis paniculata-folia, daun sambiloto) – 11 leaves
Arabic gum – 1 piece (the size of a marble)
Zedoary (Curcuma zedoaria, rimpang temu putih) – 1 finger-size cut

PREPARATION AND DOSAGE:
Decoction: Peel and clean wash the zedoary, and cut to small pieces. Boil the zedoary and the other ingredients in 5 glasses of pure water. Let boil until left to 3 glasses. Cool down and strain. Dosage: ½ glass 3 times a day.

Remarks: During this herbal treatment it is advisable to avoid consuming fish, thorny fruit (durian), jackfruit, fatty and spicy food.

Recipe # 3 - for breast tumors

INGREDIENTS:
Sour lime epiphyte (Scurrula atropurpurea-folia, benalu jeruk nipis) – 1 handful
Green chiretta leaves (Andrographis paniculata, daun sambiloto) - ½ handful
Caesalpinia crysta – bark (kayu secang) - ¼ handful
Fennel seeds (Foeniculum vulgare, adas) – ½ tablespoon
Arabic gum – 1 piece (the size of a marble)
Turmeric (Curcuma domestica, kunyit) – 1 egg-size rhizome

PREPARATION AND DOSAGE:
Decoction: Peel and clean wash the turmeric, and cut to small pieces. Boil the turmeric and the other ingredients in 8 glasses of pure water. Let boil until left to 4 glasses. Cool down and strain. Dosage: 1/3 glass 3 times a day.
