Jamu Recipes for Body Slimming 


Possessing a slim body is the dream of every woman. Aside regular exercises and watch your eating habits and managing of what you eat, another attempt is to make use of natural herbal remedies and supplements that in now a days are available in modern presentations. Here are a few traditionally home made recipes that are commonly used by housewives to keep a slim body.

Recipe # 1 

INGREDIENTS:
Shepherd turmeric (Curcuma heyneana, temu giring) – 2 finger-size cuts
Turmeric (Curcuma domestica, kunyit) – 2 finger-size cut
Zedoary rhizome (Kaempferia galangal, kencur) – 2 finger-size cut
Round turmeric (Curcuma xanthorrhiza, temulawak) – 1 finger-size cut
Dried clove flowers (Syzygum aromatica, bunga cengkeh kering) – 10 pieces
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare, adas) – 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon bars (Cinnamomum burmanni, kayumanis) – 2 bars

PREPARATION AND DOSAGE:
Decoction: Peel and clean wash all ingredients. Fine grind all the 4 rhizomes: Shepard turmeric, turmeric, zedoary and round turmeric. Mix the ground rhizomes with the other ingredients and boil in 2 glasses of pure water. Let it boil until left to 1 glass. To enhance taste you can add an adequate amount of sour lime juice, honey and palm sugar. Drink this decoction: ¼ glass once a day, in the afternoon.

Recipe # 2 

INGREDIENTS:
Pomegranate fruit skin (Punica granatum, kulit delima putih) - ½ of the fruit skin
Mecca galls (Quercus lusitanica, majakan) – 1 piece
Dried clove flowers (Syzygum aromatica, bunga cengkeh kering) – 10 pieces
Cubeb pepper (Piper cubeba, kemukus) – 10 pieces
Long pepper (Piper retrofractum, cabai Jawa) – 1 piece
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare, adas) – 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon bars (Cinnamomum burmanni, kayumanis) – 2 bars
Turmeric (Curcuma domestica, kunyit) – 2 finger-size cut
Zedoary rhizome (Kaempferia galangal, kencur) – 2 finger-size cut
Round turmeric (Curcuma xanthorrhiza, temulawak) – 1 finger-size cut

Decoction: Grind the turmeric, zedoary and round turmeric, but not too fine. Mix the ground ingredients with the others and boil in 2 glasses of water. Let boil until left to 1 glass.
