Jamu Recipes for Constipation


PATHO-PHYSIOLOGY:
 Constipation is a condition where there is no bowel movement in three days for adults and four days for children or indicated by a hard, compacted stool that are difficult or painful to pass. The regular bowel movement of each person may vary from three bowel movements every day to once in three days. As a matter of fact, the longer fecal material stays in the colon, the harder the stool becomes and the more difficult it is to pass. The cause of constipation may due to not eating enough fiber or drinking enough water, not getting enough exercise or not taking enough time to respond to an urge to defecate.

INDICATIONS:
 No bowel movement for at least three days in adults and four days for children; hard compacted stool that is difficult or painful to pass.

Recipe # 1
 

INGREDIENTS:

Carrots (Daucus carota, wortel) – 2 pieces.

PREPARATION AND DOSAGE:

Clean wash the carrots and make carrot juice with a juicer. Add 2 tablespoons pure water and a little salt to the juice. Drink this 2 times a day

Recipe # 2
 

INGREDIENTS:

Pineapples (Ananas comosus, nenas) – 3 fruits

PREPARATION AND DOSAGE:

Peel and clean wash the pineapples and make pineapple juice. Strain the juice and drink it ½ glass 2 times a day.
